Can girls and guys be just friends?

I have a great guy friend that has been in my life for 15 years. It is possible for men and women to just be friends. He dated my best friend and that is how we met. We even went to prom together. Neither one of us have ever had any romantic feelings for one another. Let me know if you have ever had a friend that you never have felt anything for except friendship.

Yes guys and girls can just be friends. My friend, and now my uncle, and I met through my aunt they were dating at the time. We used to hang out and just have fun. He and I even went to prom together too. I just felt it would be more fun to just go with him. Now we both have families of our own and are still good friends.

That's awesome that you went to prom with him as well. I even decided to not take my boyfriend at the time so I could take my best friend Rog. Do you think that was wrong?

I think one person in the pair can think so but often the other is biting their tongue hoping somewhere down the road they will be seen for the gem they really are. So, in reality, no!

It's funny that you've asked this. I suddenly remembered my guy friends. I had several guy friends (some of them gay, some straight), so I could say that yes, it's possible to be just friends with guys (without any romantic notion). I mentioned funny because all of my straight guy friends back home used to have hinted a romantic intention. Since a relationship didn't happen, I'm happy to say that I have remained friends with quite a lot of them. I have even attended some of my guy friend's weddings. Once there's friendship, in my case, the feelings of anything romantic is gone. I think it's better than having hard feelings in the end.

I had a guy as a best friend for 4 years back in grade school to middle school. He dated my best freind.It was great. Even when they broke up we were are still really close freinds. I miss him very much. He was the best friend anyone could have. He stood by me through everything. We never expected anything else but friendship it was great!
