what are some home remedies for cough with fever and flu?

Can anyone know what is the best remedies for cough with fever and flu? I want to get rid of this feeling. I hate this kind of sick. Hope i can get respond here thanks.

First thing in the morning gargle with lukewarm water with a pinch of salt in it. Second thing is make yourself a cup of tea with leaves of ocimum in it. Thirdly put a black pepper in your mouth and keep it there. I assure you this is sure shot cure of cough and cold.
