What would your stage name be if you were a performer?

I was wondering how people would choose their stage name if they were to be a famouse performer. Would you do the animal name thing, your initials, some strange combination of words you like, your first name, your first and last name? And if you were asked to change your name to what your producers advised would you? I wouldn't change my first name that's certain however I might change my last name if still single, but not sure if I'd do it with my my married last name. I think I'd go with my first name or initials though, but I could also come up with something original.

Hello, PT...believe it or not, I've been in the centerstage for all 21 years of my life. I used to be a part of the ballet company and travelled everywhere. My stagename is violetta. Our director simply asked us what color we like. I chose violet because of its mysterious effect on me. One even have the name orangutan, after orange.

Orangutan? Your lucky you didn't choose orange! Your life sound exciting, I am sure you have been to a lot of interesting places.

interesting question. i think i'll go with Albert Stone. I got the name because when you translate it in my native language, it says Berto Bato, which also means Is This Albert? (berto ba 'to?) also, i'd go with Jeaux Devereaux.

I agree with you SKLC_PT!! Given the chance to become one of the famous performer (which is impossible lol!!) I might stay with my name and be proud of it I don't believe in using stage name to be really appreciated by fans or to be easily remembered as well. I guess for me using your true name marks that you are a real person and you make your clan proud of you and your talent and you share with them your achievements you made.

I've always thought "Joey Matthews" was catchy enough to work as a performers name. Personally I wouldn't adventure away from my name, as it has meaning and pretty much sums me up. Although if I had a name say Christopher (which I personally don't happen to like) I would come up with a catchy stage name. No offence to any Christopher's here! =) ~Joey

I am a performer.. though not all that famous!.. LOL I don't use a stage name. Too many people know me so it would be silly to change my name if I got really famous. I did think about it years ago just for fun and came up with a shortened version of a couple of family names that I thought was kind of cool... Toni Lee.

for me, if im a performer, my stage name would be JON, isnt it cute? its my first name by the way and i think its unique enough to be original and if im a performer, i would be an artist, a music artist rather, and my music would be a love song alternative, acoustic and a little bit of rock i think that's cool.
