I read a lot of knitting blogs,a nd people often post their original patterns or where they got the pattern from. I like knitty.co, too.
I have several books I like - Last Minute Knitted Gifts is my current favourite, although either I am a very slow knitter, or they seriously underestimated some of the times.

I like Knitty too, although I haven't done many of their patterns.
I have Last Minute Knitted Gifts too, and I don't think I've done anything out of that book either. (What's wrong with me?!) The little bag on the cover is adorable, I may have to try it sometime soon.

Hmm, well, I don't knit, but I do know a site that I visit quite often that has a ton of knitters on there! www.crafster.org You should be able to find some patterns there. I've seen some amazing stuff, and was even sent a knitted scarf in one of the swaps I joined. Hope I was some help!

I used to find wonderful pattern books at yarn stores...now not so much. I love Debbie Bliss. She has wonderful patterns and for babies and kids I, also, mentioned before that I like Pingouin.
I do pattern book searches on ebay, too!
