You have to stay up late to watch him so why do you like watching Stephen Colbert. What keeps you coming back? Personally I think the writing is excellent and the high energy of the studio audience makes me want the cheer for Colbert at home. I think he really fights absurdity with absurdity and it is hillarious.
My favorite episode was when he interviewed my local congressman in Better Know a District. It was neat to see my hometown even if it was just a bunch of Amish.

I like his views on a lot of diffrent things, it seems like we are always on the same page.

Oh, there are so many things I like about that show. His deadpan humor, for one. And the sarcastic take he can put into anything that's happening in the world. The writing is indeed excelent, and the "The Word" segment is usually my favorite.

I watch him simply because he makes me laugh. I love his sense of humor...it is so much like mine, that I can't not appreciate it. It's kind of lame to get my news from this show, I know, but you make it entertaining enough for me, that's what I'll be watching.

His show is rerun about 2 or 3 times a day from the previous night. So, if you don't stay up you can still catch it the next day.
I've been a fan of Colbert since he was in a show called, " Strangers With Candy". I really enjoyed him on the Daily Show, also. I think some of the best segments were with the two Stevens, Steve Corell and Steven Colbert.
I like the way that he can make fun of politics, but do it in a non-offensive manner. The writing is very good and Colbert has a lot of presence.
