Have you saved your or will you when you get married? Do you know a lot of woman that still have theirs? I remember my moms being around forever and she was married in the 50's. It was all yellowed and crumpled but we still had it.

When I get married I am going to be practical and wear a dress that I'll be able to wear again on special occasions. I just can't justify spending that much money on something that's just going to sit in the closet for years. My sister still has her wedding dress and no one knows what she's going to do with it, since she doesn't plan to have children. Also, what if a woman has children and they don't like her wedding dress?

My wedding dress was $16. I've never worn it again but to me I couldn't wear it again. It wasn't extravagant or anything but I saved it anyway. Although I'm having a boy I hope to at least pass it on as an heirloom even if no one wears it again.

I saved mine for a few years and then I thought it was a waste having it hanging in the wardrobe. I took it to the cleaners to have it freshened up and after that I gave it to the charity shop. I hope somebody got some good use from it.

No , I sold mine right after I got married and got all my money back for it except 15 dollars . I don't like to hang on to things that I am never going to use again and couldn't see the point in hanging on to a dress that would surely be out of style by the time my children got married and the chances of them being the same size as me was another matter . If I hadn't sold it , I had been planning on using it to make curtains or something useful out of lol . Everyone else I knew hung on to there wedding dress except for me but I just can't figure out what the point of hanging on to something that you are never going to do anything with again so it can take up space in a box or a closet .

Yes, I did save my wedding dress. It isn't anything more than a regular white dress as opposed to a gorgeous gown but I saved it. I am currently looking into preserving it so that it doesn't yellow. I've been told that you can put it in a cedar chest and that will preserve it well but I can't seem to find one anywhere. I'm planning on taking it to the drycleaners and having them do it but to do so would cost more than the dress is actually worth. Even if it does yellow I will still keep it. It reminds me of my wonderfull wedding day to my equally wonderfull husband!

My wife & I were married in a courthouse in our jeans. HAHAH. My daughter saved her gown from 6 years ago & she is planning on wearing it at her upcoming wedding. She had champagne stains on it but cleaned them off with a combination of lemon juice & cream of tartar I think. I recall one of my Aunts had her gown saved & her daughter wore it at her wedding 26 years of age. Thanks for this discussion.

I still have my wedding dress. I've been married for 24 years. I was saving it for my child, but am unable to have children. Then I was saving it for my nieces, but they wouldn't fit into it. So I've been debating giving it to Goodwill. It's such a beautiful dress, I was hoping to share it with someone special.
