Building your own ASP.NET 2.0 Blog

Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to the ASP sceene, but I've been dealing with PHP for about 4 or 5 years. I am amazed with the controls and data objects etc. that ship with VS2005. Right now I am trying to build my own blog, something that I could easily do in PHP, and I want to compare the two and see which I like better. What I am wondering, is if anyone has any tutorials designed around building something like this, or if anyone has any tips, suggestions, etc. that may help me on my way. So far I have a site design, and I am getting ready to build in the basic nav controls (I want something more complex then what comes outta the box, but it will work for the time being. I'm getting ready to set up the Database and I really need help understanding how to make the blog display. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.
