I really did not fail in the examination in my life but I would always be very much tensed. I would stop eating, talking and even reading books nearly three days before the examination. It is another word that I would prepare well ahead of the exam dates., so that I need not revise things.
Still looking for some good medicine which will help me to get rid of my Exam Fobia.
Do you have any?

I never failed any of my school examinations as my parents made me study very hard. Apart from that, I wanted to do well. I failed one part of a secretarial examintion but I was allowed to sit it again a couple of weeks later, and I passed it the second time around.

Examinations as alwayys can unnerved me. But its a good thing I was able to pass all my subjects without failures. The subject I hated most is the chinese. Its so difficult to memorize a lot of stuff there. Makes you wonder how our brain can possibly fit all those words.

I have certainly failed some examinations when I was in school and I think it had to do with nerves. There is a lot of pressure on the students, especially when it comes to taking final exams or a SAT test. Sometimes I did better on tests when I did not think about it too much. Plus students also fear what their parents may say or feel if they do not pass the exams.

Way bck when I ever took one ha ha .I always tried to stay calm and most usually got the A for the test.
My kids were different they got so nervous it was inpossible for them to do a written test they still are the same way they have to ask for an oral test which most time is granted

Hi brijendra,Happy Holi. How come you are here. Are you not playing? I wound off half an hour ago.
Coming to the question, yes, there is undoubtedly huge pressure on students.I find two very strong reasons for the psychological pressure.Firstly the pattern of examination which requires you to vomit out whatever you have been able to hog, munch, slurp, swallow in just three hours and on a single fixed date.If you are god forbid, unwell that day ,then thats your doom and no one can help you out .
Secondly, the amount of stiff competition, makes the pressure build up so much that students psyche reaches the brink of explosion.
These can severely hamper the results by a few percentage less ,but that doesn't and shouldn't result in failure if you have been studying the whole year through.

I always had a ruff time when I took and exam....I was always afraid that I wouldn't get the right answer or know how to spell a word....It was just the fear of knowing that I was takeing a test...But after I got out of school and started working in the real world things got a lot easier for me....When I started doing my job and we had to take a test to know how much we knew about the job I alway aced them..It was a fear I had to get over.

no i havent failed in any of the exams, but i agree there is always pressure on the students during these days. however slight anxiousness always proves beneficial, the problem arises only when we are over nervous and at that time may really be responsible for your failure.

well i am a bit different here from most of the students and it is not always for the best
most of the students feel pressure and fear i discover i
turn ephatic
well i try to think about it in a logical way what would pressure bring me..and i always get the same answer at my head: nothing and poor results..because i know myself
so usually when i was a student..1 to 2 days before the exam i set down at night time read the material once and twice and went to the exam..thinking what will be will be..and the results weren't too bad:)i must say

i've failed some of my exams, but definitely not because of the pressure. in fact, the hype of the pressure lets me think faster. when i was still in high school, we were trained to cope with time pressure. they'd give us 100pt math exams for 30mins, physics exams with 50pts and 20mins, things like that.
i also have the habit of not actually reviewing before exams. i have the mentality that exams are there to test how much we've learned. and reviewing takes off that thought. and i also have this crazy habit that i can't review properly when its all quiet. i have to be disturbed while reviewing for me to actually absorb what i'm reviewing. c",)

Yes, I have failed an exam in the distant past. It was for a subject that I hated but knew I had to have to continue my desired course in engineering.
I studied the same subject again the next year but with a different teacher and found the subject not so bad after all and passed easily the next year.

There is always a lot of pressure on students to do well on tests, especially tests that count for a lot of the grade of a course. Here in Texas we have waht is call the TASS test that student has to pass to finish high school and to get a diploma. This tests is suppost to cover everthing a student learns in high school, but for the last several years of high school the teachers teach the students how to pass the TASS instead of just studing their subjects, at least that is what I have been told. This tes is very stressful.

I've failed a few times in exams before especially in Additional Mathematics. I had no idea how to solve the math problems then. But, after that, I studied like mad everyday practising lots of Math questions. Finally, I scored an A for the subject. I was so happy!
It's always important to keep cool and relax during exam time. This is not the right time to get stressed up. If one is stressed, then he should just slow down, take a break, and just basically, relax. That would be my advice. When he/she is feeling better, then he/she is ready to face any exam!

indeed theres a lot of pressure with lot of material (newer concepts etc) increasing every year to cover and fit with the 12 year bracket obviously share on each class is ever increasing. thereby students are being put to lot more pressure. many students who are weak at studies have to go to a tutor and then finish up their daily lessons. that indeed a great pressure on both students and parents too. speaking of me i didnt actually fail in any exam sofar but i couldnt give my exams once in class 5 as i met with an accident and was hospitalised during the exam days. i was promoted based on my performance in the units.

I have never completely failed an exam. (I'm in college now and just finished all my midterms). I think I have blank outs. I would study for a week (not cramming like most people do) and I would know the information backwards and forwards. But when I get to the exam I completely blank out. I don't know why that is, it might be the pressure to do well on the exams or the amount of my grade on just one exam. I never had this problem in high school, probably because I knew that if I didn't do too well on an exam I still had projects and homework to balance it out. In college it's all exams.
