Karaoke is so popular around the globe, people go to sing karaoke in the karaoke boxes, at home, or at parties. It's a way of having fun, and it's up to you what to sing and how you sing it.... BUT, Some people are just being out of control when it comes to dominating the songs, stealing other people's songs, or singging in a bad tunes! My karaoke nite with some friends turned into a nightmare when one of us persistently wouldn't let go of the microphone, sang everybody's songs for 2 hours, and all in the false tunes!!! He did that for the sake of reliefing stress tention... PUH-LEEEZZZ...... Some people believe they have the golden voice to score big in American Idol, but not to be rude, they should be arrested for public disturbance! Hehehe...... I would love to hear from Simon Cowell on this......

I don't like people who don't even try singing well. It hurts my ears. When me and my fiance(now spouse) used to go out to karaoke clubs, we would practice singing the song(s) at home first and it paid off too. We sang the song "Love Shack" by the B52's together and we saw people dancing and jamming to our song. And this happened at 2 different karaoke clubs too.

Nice topic for discussion here. I have also noticed the scenario happening most of the time to the extent of people hurting each other because of one person monopolizing the microphone.
And you are right, some people might just be having sick eardrums for not noticing the suppressed laughters of the audience. They just yell or recite the lyrics and they think they're the greatest singers just because they scored 100.
I also have sung on a Karaoke but I don't give much attention to the score. What's important to me is that I have given justice to the song. It irritates me to hear Matt Monroe's "My Way" sung with a dramatic ending of "I did it my wiiiiiii!"

Yeah, the fun is even bigger when there are friend with you in the singing boxes. To me, the most enjoying part is to torture my friends with the bad singing voice I have. Then they may twist their faces and stare at me with smiles. But they enjoy that the voice of me. They think that is the real me which is adorable.
