Should I switch shampoos often?

Is there any truth to the need to switch shampoos every few month? I've heard that you need to change because your hair gets used to the shampoo and it won't work as well.

I have learned from personal experience that I need to switch shampoos and conditioners about evy 6 months. I have two brands that I just switch around. My hair seems to do better when I switch at 6 months as compared to more or less.

I do. I believe if you change shampoos it avoids build up. I have fine hair and when I switch shampoos for the first few washes my hair generally has more body.
