How many sugars do you have in your tea & coffee?

Just curious. I used to have sugar in my tea, but since I went through dentistry school, I've cut sugar out of my tea altogether. I can't handle not having sugar in my coffee, though. It's just too bitter! I've even worked on those around me to reduce the amount of sugar they consume. (No, I won't try and talk you into it if you don't want to! lol.) So how do you have your tea & coffee?

Oh, boy! I definitely couldn't handle 5-6 sugars in my tea! That's just WAAAAYYY too sweet! Well, sugar feeds teh bacteria in your mouth, and as the bacteria reproduce, they produce acid, which can then cause decay. So when you have a high sugar intake, and frequently, you can promote tooth decay. And for me, I drink an aweful lot of tea every day. I just couldn't justify all that sugar, and so frequently when I knew what it could do to my teeth! So my compromise. No sugar in my tea! And seriously, I don't miss it at all. (Besides, it's a great way to lose weight! Cut out unnecessary sugar, and you have no idea how many calories you reduce each day!)

hi i cant take coffee without sugar. My father is a diabetics for almost 20 yrs now and he does not take any sweet items but the others foods that he takes like rice contains sugar also. I suggest you can add honey in place of sugar for coffee.

I'm with you when it comes to coffee! It's just way too bitter! I don't tend to drink too much coffee, but when I do, I just can't help but add sugar! I'll definitely give the honey a go too! Thanks for the suggestion!

Is creamer a milk substitute? Or powdered milk? Sorry, I'm not familiar with it...

I use equal or splenda in my coffee and tea - so, no sugar. I do put a LOT in them. I will use sweet & low in tea, but if that's all I have, i'll pass on coffee - I also use a lot of milk in coffee.

Hmmm... maybe it was Equal, and not Splenda that my brother and I got into (see first response). Does it seriously taste sweet once it's in tea? We tried it just out of the container, and neither of us were very impressed with it! lol.

None at all, in either drink. I like mine with milk, no sugar, if you've got the keele on, please... ;-) I can't stand the taste of it in my tea or coffee, if i accidentally take a dsip of my partner's drink, which has sugar in it, it makes me cringe!

I really don't drink much tea or coffee anymore, but when I do, I sometimes drink my tea without sugar depending on what I may be eating with it. As for coffee, I find it way too bitter without sugar, but as I only drink about 1 cup per week, I don't think it matters that much. I take milk in my tea, but prefer cream for the coffee, if available.
