Do you still take the elevator when going only 1 or 2 floors up or down?

To force myself into a little bit of exercise, I choose to climb one or two flights of stairs instead of the escalator or elevator. I also choose to walk to my destination instead of riding a cab if I'm not in a hurry. Besides saving some money, you get to flex your muscles and loosen up.

it all depends if the stairs are handy and safe. If it looks too dangerous, I will always wait for the elevator. I do prefer to take the stairs, because that is one of the best walking exercises you can do.

I have Rheumatoid arthritics so I tend to avoid stairs as much as possible because they are dfficult to assend or descend. I do walk up or down short flights of stairs though. And I do walk as much as possible. But some days it is just two much.

I use to take help of the elevator if i am climbing one or two stairs because i am a heart patient. If i have to go to some destination which is near my home then i prefer to go by walking,so that i can save some money and i can have little exercise.

Yes, I know that tendency.. it's hard to resist the temptation of taking the elevator when it is just right there. :P
But I do try to take the stairs (if it is not that inconvenient) since getting a bit of workout (no matter) how little, is always nice. ;-)

Hmm Since my office is just one level storey uilding, I think I will use the stairs.
In my previous job, I work in 3rd floor but the 2nd floor is another company own. So I have to use the elevator.

you have a good point. i used to work in a call center and using the stairs as much as i can was my only form of exercise back then. instead of the elevator, i would take the stairs instead especially if my destination was just one or two floors away. it's hard not to take the escalators in malls, though. i think shopping and walking around the whole mall is enough exercise for me. lol.

i will just use the stairs if i am going on a 1 or floors up. it will save more time than waiting for an elevator. I also like to walk rather than riding a cab if it just a walking distance. i can excercise more and save gas and money.

I stay on the first floor and I do not remember ever taking an elevator to get home .. its such a waste of time to first let the doors open then get in .. press the floor digit .. let the doors close .. then again doors open and you finally get out .. oh what a waste of time .. gosshhh .. I prefer bus number 11 thats my two legs .. (",)

I guess you're doing things right. Personally, I am in fact in this self-disciplinary program called "MAXIMIZED ECONOMY", which I posed for myself for almost exactly the same reasons you have for climbing and walking instead of riding on anything.. I suppose that's what's best for every person these days.. B-)

I read article about office employee behaviour. We did minimum physical activity. So, It is sugested to do more activity such as you can go face to face and discuss with your colleague rather than calling them from phone.
So, it is healthier to use stairs then elevator but if you bring a lot of thing and more than 4 floors....
