If people make an obvious effort to answer a discussion I have started, I always try and give them a plus.
Does this do anything for them? Does it help people when I do that?
I also always try and pick a best comment. How does that help people? Is it good for them?

I will give people a plus rating if they had tried to answered my discussions, i do not give them negative rating because i do not want to decrease their rating ( it is cruel ). I may also choose the best response, in doing so, if a person accumulated numbers of best response , it can upgrade to a higher rating , let say from 8 to 9 and change in color in the star..

thank you for your response. That is pretty well the same as I do.
I see no reason to give anyone a - rating unless they say something very cruel and uncalled for. That has never happened. People on here seem very friendly.

i too give people a big fat plus if i like their content. by liking their content i mean that its presented coherently and reflects personality. if the content is confrontational and something with which i dont agree, i usually move on. i dont see any point in giving a negative rating to someone who doesnt agree with me. hey, after all its a free world right? as for the best responses, i usually wait a while before choosing one as such is the format of this site that many times, posts to topics come after quite a while. and yes, the positive ratings and the number of best responses DOES help a mylotian as it boosts their earnings.

I have recently started to rate every good post i see a +. It takes no effort at all and it will help label a good poster.. a good poster lol. I will on very rare occasion negavote someone if they have made a pointless and disgraseful post.
