I've tried after 6 where you can't eat anything after 6 in the evening, apple diet and no rice diet. I lose few founds about 2lbs per week with apple and no rice diet. But i gain it back immediately when i take a break. So far the best weight loss activity is dancing, its fun and you'll feel more alive than ever.

Nice post. I have you a + rating for it sweets.
I have tired weight watchers diet, with the point plan. Also, eating only veggies and fruits, tried countin calories. I have tried Atkins and that drink one?? Nothing works. The weight I loss, comes back over time again, with a few more pounds. Guess I should just learn how to eat properly. :)

My mom has been on so many diets... and when I still lived at home I always had to go on them with her. I have been on Atkins (which is awful since I'm a vegetarian), weight watchers, the South Beach Diet, Body for Life, the Core, the Stewardess diet, the Grapefruit diet, the diet with that nasty soup - I think it's from the Mayo Health clinic. I know there are more... but I try to block it out of my memory... oh the one based on your blood type...

I have tried a few - and am "trying" one now too.
The first one I did was something really strange... I remember eating hotdogs and ice cream (not together, but every day). I don't think it worked.
I tried the Curves no-carb diet - did NOT fit in with my lifestyle. And I also don't think we should deprive our bodies of something it really needs.
I did Herbalife years ago, lost 15-20 lbs with that, but put it right back on after I started eating "real" food. Again, the depriving your body. Only thing I really lost with that was money though... (different story there)
Recently, I did ediets.com. LOVED it! Didn't lose that much weight, but the food was really good. I wasn't able to stick with it all the time, though when I did it really worked!!
Now I'm doing a program through Melaleuca. It's much the same as e-diets, but I'm losing the weight. I've lost about 10 lbs since January 1 and my goal is a total of 30 by April 20th (when I go on my cruise!).
I really like the ones where they give you the recipes of what to make. I hate the counting calaries and tracking all that. Just tell me what to eat and I'm good with that.

I tried the low carb diets also and I can not do them. I get sick from being without carbs. I get real sick. I don`t understand how people can stay on low carb diets. I`ve never heard of the hotdog and ice cream diet. lol. good luck with your diet and have a great time on your cruise.

I had some success with Weight Watchers a few years ago. However, I did hit one of those plateaus they talk about and, the worst of it was, no matter what I did and no matter what recommendations I got from my group leaders, I couldn't lose any more. I was so motivated and nothing worked. They do have a great plan, though, and it's not hard to follow.
Now, I'm on the South Beach Diet and I have to say, it's going great. I'm in Phase 1 (which people call "the tough weeks"). You can't have any starches (bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, etc.) or fruit during this phase. Once you break the craving for these types of foods, Phase 2 allows you to slowly start adding things back but in the right combinations. I like this plan because there is no weighing, no counting, nothing like that. Well, actually, the only thing I've measured so far is the 1/2 cup of cottage cheese that I ate as a snack today and I count out the number of nuts you can have for snacks (i.e., 15 almonds... but that only takes a second to do lol). Otherwise, it's been a no-brainer.
The reason I've gravitated to South Beach is because the plan was developed by a cardiologist. I have high blood pressure and, even with meds, it's not coming down enough. I'm convinced that the only way to bring it down is to take off more weight. I have no other conditions like high cholesterol or anything... only the blood pressure.
Today is my 6th day of the 14 day first phase and I haven't yet been hungry. I'm doing my best not to weigh myself (like so many, I'm a real scale addict!!!) but I finally checked today and I believe I've lost about 4 pounds. The book is very clear and easy to follow. So far, I have hope :)

I have tried so many diets! WEight watchers,Atkins, overeaters anonomous, different diets I dound in the mags, juice diets ,cabbage soup diets, etc. The one that worked the best for me is Weight Watchers,I lost 167 pounds.Unfortunately I have gained a lot backI know that if I could back on a diet and get the sugar out of my system I would be alright but that's the problem. Some people stop eating when they are upset but i am one of those that eat when i'm upset and the last few years have been awful.Hopefully I will be able to get back on track soon
