What you do when responding to discussions

When responding to a discussion, do you read through all the responses already made by members before responding or do you respond directly after reading a topic? I happen to be one who respond directly without knowing what others have posted. I only read after I have responded.

I only pick discussions to respond to which interests me and after reading the topic I go straight to that respond to this discussion button. I just go back and read the other responses after I have posted mine to see how the other people responded and if there are other people who think the way I do.

If I feel I have something unique to add regardless, then I will post with or without reading the responses. Unless it is a friend's discussion, if the responses are more than a page long, I tend to skip it altogether. Well, that's me. :P

If I feel I have something to add, I will read the responses if it is just 1 page long. Otherwise I will skip the responses and post anyway. If I have nothing to add, then I won't post either way. :P

It depends on discussions how what I do during responding. Sometime I do respond to my friends discussions from my mail, in that case I don't read other responses made to taht discussion. It does not make much difference, because only to that kind of discussion I respond without reading responses where you have to write very personal opinion on it. In that case it is preety much sure that every responses would be different from each others. In other case I read responses before I write my one.

I usually reply the discussions without reading other replies. But i make sure that i understand what is the idea of the topic i replied. But sometimes, when i dont exactly understand the topic, i scroll down other replies then thats the time i post mine.Lol!

Initially, before posting I was reading the responses on the first page and then posting to make sure that my post doesn't come as a carbon copy of some like mind's post. But that was kindof choking up my opinion. Now,I try to answer the question and then go through the other posts. If my eye catches something on the way, then I can't help it.Like while answering your question I already read the two initial replies. And I am going to read the rest of them after hitting submit;-)

What I usually do whenreading discussions is that I read the header only . I try to grasp the main idea of the topic and then I replied to it. I just get the context of the discussions made then I answer. Sometimes when it pertains to money earning opportunities I usually read a whole lot of it as well as the responses.

Hello whyaskq, it depends on the number of responses the discussion generated. If I thought I can contribute to what the topic is all about then I will. I usually read the first 3 responses. Other than that, I just keep posting down my response.

I don't read or respond to discussions unless they interest me. Then unless there is an unsual number of responses I read them all. After that , If I feel that I can add to the discussion I will respond. I will say that there have been discussions that I wanted to respond to but, after reading the responses I felt everything that I could contribute had already been covered so I don't respond. I like to keep a check on the discussions with no responses for ones that interest me. That way I can get my two cents worth in before some other person expresses my opinions. LOL

I too like the zero responses track or those with low responses just to give them support. LOL

No respond immediately if the discussion attracts my attention and / or interesting. I go thro' the responses after I respond

Yes, we share the same. I respond after reading the topic. I dont go to the others' responses because i think its unethical because there is a possibility that you could get idea in your answering if you read first their responsed before posting yours.

First I read the whole discussion or post and if it generates an interest, I respond to it. Sometimes I would read a few responses already made, and give my own comment or response.

It depends on the discussion more often than not. If someone is asking for help or advice, it's sometimes more useful to see if there's still anything left to point out. I've noticed many new members never get the advice to read terms, faq, guidelines & earn money. 90% of members have only replied something along the lines of "just post as much as you can & you'll get more money". If I haven't seen anyone else mention the built in tips at the bottom of the page, I make sure I do. I've noticed several discussions I've started have had the same response with nothing at all new being added even if more information has been given later in the discussion that really SHOULD influence the way the DISCUSSION bends & turns. So for me, I do both, if the original poster has taken the time to start responding to members imput, I feel it only right to hear what else they had to say on the subject in case future DISCUSSION warrants a change to my answer. If the first few pages of responses keep saying the same thing over & over & over..... I may jump to the respond button before reaching the end, IF I feel I have something different to pass along. Personally, I think if you're just going to toss your two cents into the pot & roll on to the next one, it's not really a discussion is it?
