It depends, on exactly what you mean. If you mean you are just trying to make your self sound more interesting on line, like a slightly better life, maybe a size or two below your waist line or above your actual bra size why not. Your not hurting anyone...unless you actually want to meet this person and you would have to soon face the truth.
Or do you mean pretending to be a celeb and making promise to "fans" and all of that...this type of lieing online is wrong because you are hurting others and leading them to believe a lie

I guess this question is really open for interpretation. I personally was a victim of false identity or whatever you would like to call it. I was lied to. Someone pretended to be another person (a guy pretended to be a girl) it was a rather odd situation. Anyways, I was disappointed and upset when I found out I was talking to someone other than the person I was lead to believe I was talking to. It creeped me out! Lesson learned here, be careful! Pick and choose who you talk to on the internet wisely. You never know it could possiblby be a 60 year old man pretending to be a hot 20 year old girl!

I think its ok to do so before you can know better about all your inernet or chat friends and its really depend on you whether to tell the trurt or not since it might be just a strange friends. Unless you and tha somebody was a real friends or been knowing well or you promise you are telling the thurt then you shouldn't pretent that way.
