Is myLot worth the aggravation?

I'm finding it more irritating than not... and I really don't expect that I will ever earn enough for it to matter, so that's not enough motivation for me to keep trying. Are there other benefits to participating that I am somehow missing?

I think Mylot's best assett to the public is the pass time it creates for many to more or less waste their time. I get on here for lack of anything better to do...which I am sure that is everyone's core reason for membership here. If we were all working full time or 2 and 3 jobs (or had more interactive hobbies), there would be a very diminished Mylot community. I like getting on here just to type away my own discusiions and create responses to interesting topics-but I sure don't do it for the money. I have had very sparatic earnings based on activity-sometimes I can count on monthly "paycheck" and sometimes I cannot. I seriously do Mylot because I have nothing else to do with my time....but I do enjoy it most of the time.

Well, with a rating of only 33, maybe you haven't given it a fair chance yet? Or maybe, you are learning this isn't the right site for you early on, instead of wasting your time. I have noticed that a lot of people do not loike Mylot, and they post discussions the same you have.

It's taken me a few weeks to get to a rating of 86. I think the big difference for you and I flit is that we've gotten used to writing more than just questions. We've been writing stories and poetry...

Maybe that's why I'm finding it frustrating. I know that when I am here there are other things I should be doing... when I'm on Gather or neopets, that is okay, because I enjoy my time there. But when I am here i am mostly just aggravated - so it doesn't seem so worth it.

Mylot is a great way to make friends, get more friend and respond do discussinos instead of posting them right now. Until you have a friend base you wont' get many responces to your discussions. Another tip is keep your answers on topic and try to make them over 7 words. Another good thing about mylot is you learn so much. your still new keep working at it.

hey...I've seen that picture before... my kid used it on msn for a bit. I think I am just frustrated. I don't much care for not being able to copy and paste - was trying to paste something to HELP someone with a computer problem and couldn't... it annoyed and insulted me to not be allowed. And I do not like having to either remember which page I commented on in a discussion to be able to go back and see if there was any response to my specific comment - maybe there is a better way to do that, but I haven't found one. Pretty hard to actually make friends if you can't follow up on things

oh yeah...and I'm tired of the add tags/skip screen already, too! LOL Maybe I'm just cranky.

Hi flitcsa, I'm beginning to wonder the same. Either people spend all their time on here or there has to be some way that they are racking up the points. I've been on here for a few weeks now, and only managed to earn $2.05, and only by giving 3 referrals and posting some discussions. Gather doesn't make it worth my while to be on there, but I've spent a year on there writing things and building up a few friendships, so not really sure what I'm gonna do. I suppose I can just do things slowly on here, and maybe in a year I'll get enough to collect the $10 amount you need for first payment.

I MUCH prefer gather... but will likely stop in here once in awhile anyway ... don't see it as something I'll ever earn any $$ at though... it's just too blasted ANNOYING! LOL My tolerance for annoying is not high.
