Are the things we do based on fear rather than love??!

I hate you, but I love you... - Isn't it true.... in most cases u r most hurt by a mistake made by ur loved ones and probably u may forgive some one else the same/ similar mistake made by them?

I read an article in the newspaper recently... it said that most of the things that we do are based on a feeling of fear rather than love for it or interest. He quoted quite a few examples begining from childhood as to how people are programmed to fear someting and do their work rather than for the love of it... it cieted examples such as studies at a younger age, and went on to things such as relationships... he stated that many people stay in a relationship for the fear of the society or for some such similar fears rather than love... I could relate it to many things in my life... from my schooling to many of the things i do... its for the fear of not wanting to face the consequences of not doing a task rather than me doing it with interest... does this happen with u too? what do u think is appropriate in such situations? listening to the heart or scumb to the fear??

funnily enough this is true and can be altered, it is just a way of viewing the world. for example when some people wake up in the morning they think 'i hve to get up or i will be late for work and then i will lose my job and will not be able to pay my bills and then i will lose my house'. it is better when we wake to look forward to all the good things that are going to happen in the day, it is not what happens but how we think about what happens.

hmm.... very right... its all in the mind... everything... even the most adverse situations does not affect you if u are feeling good in the mind whereas even the biggest event that occurs in ur life may not seem as a big deal if u are not at all in a good mood... well i'd like to know if u have ever felt in a similar way as i have stated... where u have acted more out of fear rather than love for something ?

This is an interesting question. It is definitely true that more things happen these days due to fear psychosis rather than actual love. Politicians work because of the fear psychosis from the media. Normal people work because of the fear of how society would look at them. Employee works because of the fear of economic aspirations that he/she has. The list is simply never ending and things mostly get done because of fear psychosis. But, at some point in time people start listening to their heart and do start taking decisions accordingly. That is very gratifying when such a thing comes off and gives more satisfaction than when something is achieved by fear. Cheers! Ram
