Do we design our life?

Do we really decide what we want to do with our life? or we let our daily activities run through us? If we have dreams or plan out what we want to do to achieve our goals, then we are designing our life.
Many people have this experience where their parents have already decided what they should do. "My child will be a doctor or a pilot when he grows up"
On the other hand, people themselves will just do whatever that comes to them with no plans in mind.
Which category do you belongs to? Do we really have to design our own life?

this is one question that has rattled me no end..and after a lot of thought i have come to the conclusion that life is part free will, part destiny..see,people say that you should plan your work, then work your plan in order to succed in life..but i have seen around me so many people who set out to do something and ended up doing something so very different and still made it big in life..on the other hand i also know of friends who despite being innately intelligent didn't reach the heights they had planned for themselves despite having everything going for them, be it finance, the right contacts et all

I shared your sentiments as well. Anyway, it is still better to have some plans for ourselves. The future may turn out to be very differently positive. There are no [right or wrong answer] or [right or wrong path]. As long as we feel that what we have decided is what we want.
To me, life is a learning process. If I am traveling on path A and learn some lessons, then I could make a decision and move to path B. Therefore, it is good to share and grow together.That's why it is good to have friends along our life journey.

I think we have to design our own life. I want to have a meaning life. I think everyone has dreams in his life. How can his dreams become reality without designing it? However, it is often a case that God also plays an important role in realizing our dreams.

I'll just go with the flow in life but at the same time i must have plan and decide what i want in order to achieve it.Design the life is just part of it.Fate had stated for us.
