study or work?

if you can choose, would you decide to work or to study? what would you prefer to do? which is better?

I would prefer to work for a living, and study on my own, learn my own way, if given a choice. One does not make a living from sitting in a classroom.
I have gone as far as I would like to go with my formal education, and now I want to get out there and make a living somehow.
