Really? I wonder why. Don't get too upset, as they hardly reply to anyone. Must be very understaffed.
I like tissues too. But my hubby was raised old fashion and uses them, and they barf me out.

Funny you should post this Margie. I am always kidding my father (early '70s) that he should give up his hankies as they aren't sanitary. Being as how he grew up with a hankie in his pocket, he feels 'naked' without one and laughs at me. I find a hankie very unsanitary. One is basically placing 'snot' in the piece of cloth, wading it up...and then getting it out the next time it is needed! That 'snot' sits there... probably growing more bacteria before finally being dry and crunchy. The next time the user feels the need to blow or sneeze, they drag the crusty handkerchief out and unfurl it to get a nice large spot, (as it unfurls the bacteria are flung into the air for all of us who are nearby to breathe) and they load the handerchief again. YUK!!

Tissues! Tissues! Tissues! Tissues! Tissues! Tissues!
Please!!! Tissues!!!!!!
I grew up with my Dad using hankies! and even growing up...yucky!
He would blow his nose and put it back in his pocket! And then later, pull it back out and blow his nose on it again! Eww!!!
Sorry, I would much rather have a tissue or toilet paper to blow my nose on and throw it away!!!

I use tissues, I believe them to be more sanitary. My first hubby used hankies, cause he liked them. My new husband uses bandanas, red preferably, but dark blue works, because he gets serious nose bleeds, and people are less likely to notice the blood if you are wiping it on a red bandana or navy blue.

i use 2. Over here it gets very humid n hot most of the years n i prespire alot. So the hanky is to wipe off my prespire, it DOES NOT clean my mouth after food *YUCKS*, i use tissues for tt. I am a tissue addict, every little dirt/oil/dust on my fingers n hand i will wipe it off with tisse very quickly. Imagine boxes of tissues disappearing in such a short time n when we reach the last 1 or 2 boxes, we wonder "din we just buy ALOT of boxed tissues???" My husband carries a hanky too, but he uses tt to clean his mouth n prespire *GROSS*

I am a hanky user and have been for as long as I can remember. I did use tissues but the first year I had a very bad case of hayfever and the dr. suggested not to use tissues as the tiny fibres irritate the eyes and nose. So basically use the aloe-vera ones for removal of makeup and must admit the hayfever has eased off quite a bit.

I agree that tissues are more sanitary than handkerchiefs but I always remember my mum putting a hanky in our school pocket with a small amount of money tied in the corner to buy lunch or a treat. You can't do that with a tissue! I always have tissues on hand in my bag and don't even think I own a hanky anymore.

I always use tissues I think they are healthier than wrapping up mucus into a nice little packet and putting it back in your pocket or purse. When I was growing up we didn't having washing machines and I can tell that there was nothing nastier than washing used snotty hankies. Then you had to iron them into neat little squares and if they were ladies embroidered ones the design had to be just right. Thank heavens for Kleenex.

I have to laugh at this one. I usually use tissues. But I have always carried a hanky around with me for emergencies. And you know what? I have gone for years at a time without ever using it. I keep it in my back pocket and when I wash my jeans, it comes out. Then when I wear my jeans, I put it back in my back pocket. I do have a few hankies in my drawer, but they ever hardly get used.

I use tissues all the time. I don't like to use hankerchiefs because I don't like the thought of carrying a dirty one around and reusing it throughout the day. My hubby on the other hand always uses hankerchiefs which is fine with me until I have to pick them up to wash them. LOL!

I use tissues. Like most people have said I think of hankies as being very unsantarity. My Grandfather used them and always put them back in his pocket. The only thing I used to hate about tissues is when I was younger, if my Mom thought I had something on my face she would take a tissue out of her purse and lick it and clean my face off. I would almost gag, even as young as I was. I always wondered if they where used or new. Gross.

I am a tissue user as is my hubby. It's just cleaner. You use it and throw it away. The only bad thing is when your out and you put it in your pocket and forget about it. The mess in the washer is not nice. But a friend of ours uses hankies. He has allergies real bad so he always a couple of hankies on him. I think alot of hankie users are old school or their parents and grandparents used hankies so its just what they do.
