why do women abadon their children and leave them to die?

what drives a mother to abandon her children and leave them to die? I hear it all the time on the news, how a mother left her child in a dumpster, or at a park. They have places you can take your children without getting in trouble such as hospitals, police stations, fire departments and yet they choose to put them in harms way! does this upset anyone else, because as a mother it disgust me that these women are that selfish to do this to their own flesh and blood and feel no regret or even shed a tear for the pain and suffering that child went through to die. i think that their should be law that women who do this must not only go to jail but have their tubes tied to where they can't have anymore children. Life is a gift given to us, and these women just throw it away like garbage(literally).

i get depressed sometimes but not to the point of wanting to hurt my own child. that is sad that things like this happen everyday. some innocent child pays the price of a woman who is selfish enough to open her legs get pregnant and then get rid of the "problem" as they put it. the problem is keep your legs close or go get birth control or something....ya know?

When I read of stories like this...babies left in the garbage or worse a baby found in a garbage bag, etc makes my skin crawl. I can never understand the women who do such vile thing. You carry a child for 9 months...suffer through morning sickness, back pains, being uncomfortable, insomnia, the kicking and moving of the baby inside, etc...and when the baby is there, these women just dump them. A child is a precious miracle. So many women who will give everything just to have a child are not bless with such miracle but those fortunate enough just dump them.
The moment these women find out about this unwanted pregnancy...they should contact adoption places or after giving birth, just leave them to places where they know the child will be safe and will be taken care of.
These women who dumps their baby should be punished and make sure that they can't have children anymore.

They dont have the support of friends or family, or didnt get told how to deal with a situation like that, and they are scared of the outcome of having a child. My mom always told me that no matter what she loves me and we will get through watever problems might arise.

i understand that some of them don't have anyone to turn to, but that still doesn't give them the right to kill a baby. I mean that's like giving someone an excuse to rob a store by saying that they were poor or something. you have the baby inside you for 9 months and then you kill it, why not just push yourself downstairs and kill the baby that way?
