I am a mom of 3 years now and I seemed to have a difficult time getting my daughter to pee in the bathroom every time she is about to go to sleep....and that is why I still have to place her on a diaper when she goes to sleep because she gets wet on the bed. My problem is I could not seem to wake her up in the middle of the night to help her pee in the bathrom 'coz when I did that, she throws tantrums and it is so hard for us to stop her. Any options I must do? Please help me out...

The way I potty trained my daughter was to reserve a special treat (say yogart covered raisins, for example) for when she went on the potty. ONLY then would she get that special treat. If you are having particular trouble at night, you can get her special "friend" (new stuffed animal or toy) that has to use the bathroom before they go to sleep. Children seem to be able to associate with this "friend" who has to do the same thing she does, and doesn't feel as pressured or singled out when they BOTH have to go to the bathoom before bed. It's a somewhat reasuring process for them. Give it a shot. And good luck!

My toddler is 2 1/2 and she still on the potty training. The treats didn't work for her but she keep on asking when can she go to school and this was a perfect opportunity for me. I told her that when she learned how to do potty, then she can be in school. She is still on her pull-ups but she is doing much better.
At night, after she brush her teeth, I ask her if she wanted to go potty. Most of the times she says no...but I coaxed her and ask why don't we try and see....and I talk to her all the time..just chattering or talking her about Cinderella or other Disney stuff. Before she knows it..she is just listening to me and sitting on the potty. This works everytime and it sort of a routine so she is getting use to it.
You just have to distract her if she refuse..coz the more you force her to go potty I think the more they dig into their heels. Hope this helps.

I completely agree with ladymoonstone. The more we try to coax them the more stubborn they become. So its best to divert their attention and start talking about what they like. This has worked with my 2 1/2 year old. I used to start narrating her some of her favourite stories and make her sit in the potty. This was worked well with my dauther.
You can also try this method :)
