I was feeling sick on Wednesday pain in my side lower back pain and frequent urination. My sister said your symptoms appears to be kidney related. I felt worse on Thursday, and I saw my PCP. Her diagnosis was low grade kidney infections. I was given Cipro and told to take aspirin for fever. I was told I would feel better in a day or two take the Cipro for 7 days twice a day. I took Friday off from work because I felt dizzy. Okay, it is Sunday and although I feel a little better I am concern. Should I be worried? Have anyone on Mylot ever had a kidney infection? How long did it take for you to feel better? What test did the doctor perform? What type of prescription were you given?

I had one but I was also urinating blood. It was quite gross!! I just took something for the pain. I felt dizzy too! I took some days off. Take it easy, drink cranbery juice and if you feel worse see your doc! (by the way read the side effects of your medecine)

I have had a kidney infection before and they are NO fun. I've even had to be hospitalized. Cipro did work for me but you need to be sure to take them all. You will probably feel better after the meds are in you for a few days (usually 3-5 days) Do not stop taking them when you start feeling better or the infection can flare back up, maybe even worse! In addition to what the doc has prescribed, drink as much juice and fluids as you can. Cranberry juice works best for me, but you can get different flavors now that aren't as tart. As soon as I start getting the lower back pain, I've learned to start drinking it & it doesn't seem to last as long.
If you are still in pain in a few days or the pain keeps getting worse, you could have the doc do an IVP. They use a big needle to inject iodine into your system, so they can watch (monitor) while it circulates in your system. They can use this test to see if there is a blockage. My kidney infection was from a kidney stone I had a hard time passing. The test revealed that the stone was stuck in the tube between the kidney & bladder. Luckily the extra fluid from the IVP helped push the stone thru, relieving most of the pain.

I've had horrible urinary tract infections. I remember one time I was in a lotof pain and then I felt I had to pee really bad so I went in to go the bathroom and it wasent urine it was pure blood that came out. The next time I went pee it was fine so I dont know what that was about. I've been dealing with chronic urinary tract infections for 7 years. As soon as I spot taking anti-biotics the pain starts to come back so I start gussling cranberry juice. That works mostly but not totally. So I bought cranberry pills. Same thing with that. I have a uti right now that was really bad so I gave in and went to the doctor. They put me on cipro for 7 days and on the 25th of this month I have to go to a urologist.
