Vitamin Pills are commonly taken to boost health, but a new study from Copenhagen University Hospital in Denmark, has found that vitamin A, vitamin E and or beta carotene taken singly or in combination with other supplements, significantly increases the risk of death. I believe in supplementation. This report scares me. What to do?

Beware of such research. Find out who paid for the research. Many of the big pharmaceutical companies sponsor these studies to discredit the natural alternatives to their medicines. Just think of how much they would lose if we all became healthy from better living and taking vitamins and herbs. Just don't believe every study out there.

Your comments are well appreciated. A good number of these scary reports occur with synthetic vitamins. It would make sense therefore that sponsors would not highlight this in their reports. I believe the natural forms of the vitamins are more easily metabolized and absorbed by the body. Recently I was introduced to fructose compounding- a technology where essential minerals and vitamins are bonded to fructose molecules. Fructose, being a ntural sugar, is believed to help with absorption of nutrients. These are available in Melaleuca's VITALITY FOR LIFE multivitamin/multiminerals. I started taking these recently, and I do feel an improvement in my alertness and general energy levels.
