is it ok if a man crying?

hi i'm a male and since little boy,my father always told me that a boy or a man MUST not crying.Because a man strong and a patron for his family,what ends up to his family if a man weak?and when he saw me crying,he fumed me.that made me affraid to crying 'till now.what do you think about that friends?are you crying?

If it was meant for men not to cry, we would not have to ability to do it. It is ok to cry when you have to. People need to let go of these old beliefs.

I think that it is good to cry. This doesn't show weakness rather it shows that you can express your emotions freely. I believe that people who suppress any emotion die sooner because this stresses out the body.

I think men ought to be aware of the effect that it would have on others, but they should have one or two people that they are comefortable to talk to and cry with. The night I met my DH, he was crying with his cousin (and me) about losing his son after his ex left him. It struck me as very tender how much he loved his son. It was also so moving to see him crying in the delivery room after I'd given birth to our little boy. But I wouldn't think it to be proper for him to cry about something in front of coworkers or something.
