A mylotter says I talk too much!

I asked a "friend" why he invited me to be his "friend" since it didn't seem we were interested in the same kind of topics and we didn't seem to agree on much. He said that he noticed that my answers seem to be "long-winded" and that he thought he would make more money if I answered his discussions. Now,I don't understand mylot's payment algorithm (does anyone?)but can he really be correct? I know that I can ramble on with the best of them but is he making money because of my long answers? Not to mention,it was kinda rude to call me "long-winded", imply that he didn't read my answers but was willing to make money off my efforts. I don't care about the pennies he may collect but I thought this was a perfect forum for people who like to say a lot about a lot of different things. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. I would hate to think that I'm annoying people.

I don't think that your annoying people. :) I do think that he may be somewhat correct that, if he posts a quality discussion and has people respond that really put lots of effort into their responses (making them long and staying on topic) then his discussions will earn more than someone that starts a discussion that gets responses that only amount to one or two sentences. Just my thoughts on that. I have no first hand knowledge of how the earnings are calculated. Mylot does stress quality and you here others reiterating that fact. As always just my 2 cents worth! :)

Thanks, beanie. I couldn't care less if he made money from my responses. Actually, it would be a compliment to think that someone benefitted from something I had to say instead of just getting a headache, like my husband does!

awww...ZenDove..i think he was rude to say that you are "long-winded" with your discussions..firstly the are informative and the discussions are ones that make you think and make your mind wonder about things..and your right this is a forum and you want to read quality answers and start discussions that mean something to you because we all know tht we all may be thinking about or going through something and chances are we are not the only ones in that position..i personally have enjoyed reading your discussion threads and for the most part discussions all through mylot..im a beginner here but its fun..i enjoy it..and whats that old saying whats good for me may not be good for someone else? so he can make his pennies..you keep up the great work! hugs!

Thanks, ashanti! I was really new when that comment was made and I'm still new enough to be unsure of my niche here. I'm glad I posted this discussion and every now and then I come back and read the positive and supportive responses...now, thanks to you, I have yet another one. Thanks, again.

You're on the right track, zendove. Mylot is a community where you can write down whatever is on your mind. We try to read the discussion posted well before giving in our 2 cents worth of response. This long-winded friend of yours are rude to even tell you that he can collect a few cents from your response. It should be a matter of giving and taking as well. If he reply to all or some of your discussions, then he can be your friend. But if he never reply back to any of your discussions, then he is a user.

Zendove, I will say He didnt say right to you, I dont care if anyone use my comments or response to add to His pocket, When that Happens I see myself as being Improving in the issues of life, rather than say He is stupid or whatsoever, but He acted wrong ans He should be corrected, you are not annoying people but rather you are blessing because you added some money to His page. I want you to know that Mylot os not for money making but to share thoughts and get response and whosever that is here to annoy people, should change because calling you a Long Winded is so rude and He should go and learn respect, because is a treasure

Thank you so much! I am encouraged by your response and sincerity. I'm not going to give that "friend" another thought. If he posts something that I find interesting, I will respond, if not, then I'll move on. Just as I do with all other discussions. I don't understand why people give so much thought to money here. It's obviously not a get-rich-quick scheme. It's about adding to a sense of global community which, I think, the world needs right now more than ever.

How nice of you. It's so good to receive positive feedback and encouragement. It takes the sting out of any negative things that are said. Thank you.

being rude to you was rather stupid of him if you think about it. since he couldnt be nice i wouldnt respond to any of his topics. and honestly i dont know if he would make more money if he got a lot of small responses or just a couple of long responses to his discussions. lol its gotten to where i just think of mylots algorithm as "magic" instead!

Yeah, who has time to figure out where mylot spends it's fractions of pennies? That they give me any money at all is a wild concept. thanks for responding.
