why always ladies first?

ladies first - Our society always give preference to ladies first before gents.

In our society y is ladies always given first preference for everything before gents?. wel i feel our ancestors have started this system and we are following the same system wat do u think?

It maybe true, but I think it is because of being a gentleman. An act of courteousness towards a girl, to which consider as also our own mothers. I think it should always be practiced, nothing bad will happen on us if we do follow these traditions. And I think it also helps our personality even..

I donot know the actual reason of why always ladies first but from my point of view, this world has been started by the ladies if you think deeply, so thats why ladies are always give first preference.
