Hello Jencai! You really don't like the ozone layer to be destroyed, do you? Well this are the very effective ways of preventing it, first, don't burn plastics, papers, leaves and etc. because this will be the reason why our ozone layer to be destroyed. Second, if you will go to a place that you can reach by just walking, well take a walk instead driving your car because the smoke of the car will be a reason of destroying our ozone layer. It's good for the health too because some fats can be burned. And third, plant more trees so that it can clean the air. Hope you will do the three things for saving mother Earth. Okey, first let's define ozone layer. Ozone layer is a blanket of ozone gas located in the upper atmosphere, Which until recently completely enveloped the earth and it's lower atmosphere. The importance of Ozone rests in it's ability to absorb ultra violet radiation, the component of sunlight that is harmful to life. The ozone layer present in the atmosphere acts as a UV filter. In short, without the Ozone layer that protects us from the harmful UV rays of the sun, we are all in danger. UV radiations would not be filtered as it reached the surface of the earth. If this happen, cancer would break out. Cataract and Blindness are illness that is caused by the UV rays, so the Ozone Layer is very important to mankind=)

well jencai, life is possible on earth only due to the presence of ozone layer as it works as a protective shield and prevents ultra-violet rays to reach earth, if its destroyed life will exist only in deep layers of ocean and uv rays are as you know responsible for skin cancers, best way to prevent is destruction is to cut down the use of chlorofluorocarbons, as these react with ozone layer and destroy them and it was earlier used in refrigerators.
