You can use the Windows XP Cd for this. Simply place the CD in the drive and boot the computer, which will start the installation process automatically. After transferring files to a temporary folder you will asked if you wish to install Windows, so select Yes. You will also be asked whether you wish to use C: drive and whether you wish to repartition, so answer Yes to each of these and the partition will be removed and recreated, after which Windows will automatically format the drive for you.

All you have to do is restart your computer with the XP installation disc in your cd or dvd drive. At most you would have to reset your computer to boot from your cd drive but I doubt it would be necessary.
Once the prompt screen comes up you simply follow the directions.
I always use the quick format option which is Fat32 as some of my games will not work under NTFS.
Of course you want to make sure you back up any files that you want to save first.
I have done this many times and it is possible to format your C drive. You may have to do it from a different directory, but it can be done.

dear krunal
while you are working in windows xp it locks c: . if you want to format c:\ then you can use third party bootable disks. boot the computers from these disks..... and then format.
moreover you can format the computer using windows xp installation CD. but remember if u have OS installed on the other drive and u format c:\ then you will have to install OS again
find third party bootable cd s on ultimatebootcd.com
download and burn freedos iso from freedos.org/freedos/files
you can find free iso images of these disks. generally these third party disks are linux os based. if u want to partition your drives try out Cute partition manager. its free.
