Which is the best opening combination for India team for the World Cup?

From my point of view Sourav Ganguly should open the innings with Sachin Tendulker.

Well ideally Sachin-Sourav should open as they have been the most successful opening partnership for India which has won games for India. And both are in good form too. But i feel team managemtn wants sachin to bat no.4 to bolster themiddle order so that sachin and drvid can control teh innings in the middle overs from 20 to 40 which is very imp. So most likely sourav is going to open with sehwag or uthappa in world cup 2007.

i feel sehwag and uthappa should open, both are devastating players than ganguly should come at one down, it would give more flexibility to the team!!

i think saurav n uthappa combination is the right one...they have made 3 or 4 good starts in the last few games......n i think greg would not disturb the winning combination...n sachin must come in at 3... uthappa is very young n blastin....if he provides a blast start...the following batters have less pressure on them....so they can consolidate n dhoni n yuvraj can hit big.... ganguly...there is no chance of replacing him as an opener....c'mon he has done more thaan well in all the games he has played since his comeback...

no tendulkar and sourav ganguly should open for india, because sachin is very good in opening slot. he is not successful in 3rd place batsmen, most of the times he will open for india, his maximum centuries are come when he is in opening place, so he should be given the 1st place for opening to india,

i think u are right though i dont remember if uthappa is right handed or left but definetly a right hand and left hand combination would be great. Sehway should come one down and then tendulkar. which would strenght the middle order with dravid and yuvi still to come.

I think sourav and robin should open the indian innings followed by tendulkar,robin can play big shots and can increase the pase of the game and they have been a good combination in the previous matches so its better they open sewagh should be batting at 5 or 6 its better to include irfan pathan also...
