My friend's birthday is coming up, and he wants me to make him things instead of buying a gift. I've made him a hemp bracelet before that he loved, so I made a new one with a fancier design.. but I want to send more little things if possible, or even one "big" thing. (I'll be mailing the gift out of state.) I just can't think of anything! Any suggestions? What have you made for the men in your life?

I love candle making, and there are scents available at the craft store that would be more masculine- like coffee. If you know how to make lotions & soaps, a nice after-shave lotion and matching scented soap would be a great idea. If you knit or crochet a hat, gloves, or scarf might be nice if he lives in a cold climate.

I make a special soap for my hubby. It's just melt and pour glycerin soap with some masculine smell good added to it. He likes a scent called Juniper Breeze which sort of smells like a name brand deodorant soap.
If he likes wearing jewelry, maybe a matching necklace for his hemp bracelet.
You can't ever go wrong with food! His favorite home made fudge or cookies in a nice tin.
If he wears t-shirts you can buy a blank t-shirt and spray paint some cool stuff on it. There's a spray paint out just for cloth, it's called Simply Spray.
Just a few suggestions, hope that helps.

Well, I guess this suggestion sort of depends on the guy and the climate. My boyfriend always wants me to knit him scarves and hats...and gloves, but I have yet to tackle those. There are some really cool patterens that you can find online with aliens, or skulls and crossbones.
If he has a desk job, decorated office supplies are fun. You could decorate them around some type of theme.
Stenciled T-shirts are also great idea. I make them using freezer paper for the stencil and some fabric paint. Blank t-shirt can be bought really affordably at the craft store.
Good luck!

I have made quite a few things for both my hubby and son--my son has a tissue box cover with a Harry Potter design on it that I created (made the design) and stitched from plastic canvas, a CD holder, a fleece blanket, a beaded dream catcher. My husband who loves light houses has several magnets and ornies (ornaments), a light house wreath, a cassette tape case, fleece blanket, beaded dreamcatcher. I have also made southwest tissue boxes for me, fire dept doorhangers and tissue box covers (for those in the fire dept), sun visor organizer. I have even done those 'gifts in a jar' type thingys for men as well. Take what you know that they like and work with it. Crafters are always creative LOL
