mother-in-law

An old topic but yet to find an answer as of how an daughter-in-law so innocent new to life changes into a selfish possessive mother-in-law(sorry not all mother-in-laws are like that but i am pointing out a majority of them who are) who doesn't let another women enjoy with her son.

oh i have that mother in law mu husband was single for 10 years before we met so she pretty much had him to herself which is fine but as we grew closer and decided to get married she did all she could to make that not happen, my mother-in-law is the type who wants to control anything going on in her boys lifes and i wont allow that,she dosnt need to know all our bussiness, dont get me wrong i love and respect her but she needs to let go of the apron strings. to fix my problem we moved away 14 hours away and we love the freedom of not being told how and when.

I believe that a women's intimate connection to the child is over when they cut the umblical cord(quoted by celion dion or shania twain i dont remember but several years ago on the birth of her son) .Ofcourse we love our kids but we should let them go to be a whole human being.

do you have any children? speaking as a mother the connection to her children is never lost, amothers instince is to care for her children always as a mother you have done all for them cared for them when sick fed them clothed them and to let go is hard i know, sometimes its hard as a mother to watch someone else take over your shoes and do all the things you used to do ,but let go we have to do, i try to be a good mother-in-law and just be there if and when they ask for help.

Oh dear i agree thta we will love our kids all our lives.As a women we should take a commitment that as we get our son into marriage that we are giving him away and hwe should accept the fact that his wife would be the apple of his eyes from then on.We must also let him go to take care of his family first.Dont you agree with me on this?
