He lives in the sea...the song says..."SpongeBob Square pants, who lives in a Pineapple under the sea....."

Pineapple under the sea. hmm That could mean because there is a Pineapple it could be Caribbean see? mybe under the Cook's island's

Spongebob lives on an ocean town called, 'Bikini-bottom'. He's friends were Squidward and Patrick Star, he and Squidward both work for Mr. Krabb's restaurant called, 'Krusty Krabs'.. I hope I said all correctly!;)
