I'm sick of seeing these so-called "discussions"

I have spent quite a lot of time on here today and I'm getting really fed up with seeing all the "get rich quick" postings. *See this website*
*sign onto that website*
*have you tried that website*
*buy my video games*
*get paid to read*the list is endless.
I know we are mostly here to earn a little bit of spare cash but I'm beginning to think that enough is enough here and these ads (they are not discussions) are taking up so much room that genuine discussions are disappearing before you get a chance to look.
Is everyone fooled by these "discussins"? Does anyone actually respond to them?

When I first joined myLot I responded to some of these discussions and even checked out the links. Now I am bored with them, as a lot of them are just repeats of what somebody else posted. I think it might be better if myLot had a special section for people who want to look for referrals. A few of my friends are constantly posting referral links and when I get an email to say a new topic has been posted, I get very disappointed to find that it is just a referral link. I now just delete them, as I don't have anything to add to them.

All I can think is that famous phrase - "There is no such thing as free money." :)
You are right all these offers seem very good until and unless you go to practice it and then get disconted with it and leave it. I feel mylot is actually better than most of these other sites which just seem to be eyewash.
Cheers!

Thanks for your comments hun, and while we might not be able to stop it, I do feel that they would be better in an off site area

Yet so many people fall for them hun, not just you. I do feel it would be a good idea if they were limited though, just to give the genuine discussions a chance

No one is fooled by these attempts to get referrals.
I think it would be better for these people to just set up their blogs off site and have the link to the blog as their homepage. That way its not cluttering up the discussion area.
I don't mind the links that lead to information like health sites and such. I am guilty of posting them because I feel they will help the discussion and others might need the information.

Links with valid information are not quite so bad but you are right, it would be better to set up blogs off site

I am in agreement with you on this too. I admit that I once made a thread about one site I knew that was specifically for British people, as so many of them were moaning that most on-line earning sites are for US citizens only, but that site was more of a get discount goods site, than one to make money online. Other than that - I am equlaly bored with all of them, and I think the poster who suggested a sepaerate section being made just for people who want to talk about this, was making a very valid point.
Mind you - if we are talking about lack of good discussion material, I don't think the referral people are the only ones to blame. I, for one, am sick of pages of 1 line topics that can really only require one word answers............ you know, the classic "What is your favourite colpur?", or "Is you hair long or short?" They make me mad!!!

People in the UK do seem to get a bit short-charged with earning websites hun, and while we enjoy the discussions, I notice that most of the money earning sites are used and promoted by the USA citizens, good luck to them :-)
The one-liners get on my nerves too,

I would love for the uk companys to offer more freebies about such, there had actually been a good few times where i have gotten frebie, realised i liked it and when out and bought it.. so i think british companys should follow suit! Sorry, i know it was off topic but i wanted to say it :)

You made a great point there about the crappy discussions! I am trying to build up a really good amount of freinds who know how to post so all i have to do is check the freinds discussion list and i can find interesting subjects :)

It would still be nice though if they didn't up the room for good discusions, like has been previously mensioned, and having an area for good and bad sites to join. So those who want to find all the sites can go directly to area.

I personally don't respond to them. I found out about Mylot through someone's blog, and something about it piqued my interest, and so here I am lol.
I try not to whine about these discussions too much because the people that post them have obviously found something that works for them and so they want to partly pass on something that they've found works for them, and yes, partly to get referrals and make more money.
In a world where it's hard to make a decent living from a regular job, I find it encouraging that many people are trying to supplement their wages by making a little more online.

Hey recycledgoth - quite right I wouldn't look at his website either after he was so rude! Think he contradicts himself - if it is a public site then surely you have every right to post a discussion on whatever you choose without people like him reacting hostilely! Your avatar is way cool honey - where does it say it has to be a picture!?!?

Not me, no way!
But I am not "sick" of them because I don't really care. I just review them in my email notifications and ignore them. :P

It is all too easy to be fooled into joining up thinking you can make a lot of money, but sadly most of them do appear to be somewhat dubious. Thanks for your comments

I appreciate people posting about their experiences with other web sites. I don't think it hurts for others to recommend "good" and "bad" web sites. It's nice to help people out!

Helping out with advice is cool, but the point I was trying to make was that MyLot seems to be swamped with it rather than discussions at the moment. Perhaps I s hould say that there are far too many on here right now, and it is hard to find a quality discussion. I appreciate your comments

I may agree on your point of view on the money thing and the buy my video game but don't you think sometimes people want to share what they really have done.
Otherwise you're very right but I don't think people will stop doing this thing from just starting this topic.

I do not respond, because just a couple days ago I saw some postings with the "make money" crap, and none of the links were legit, either you had to pay, or it was not even a sight to make money. There are so many scams on the internet, like pay and you'll make millions or make 5 grand in a week, yeah right!! If that was really true, then people would not be working there tushies off to make a living and everyone would be rich! Its really started to make me mad as well. goodness! well try to fell better about it all! Hope you have a good day!! :)

I think one has to be very choosy in joining the work from home programs. Get rich programs do not normally exist. Look out for programs that do not promise big money. Any business for that matter needs a minimum of six months to gain some sort of momentum.
