what do u think of when u buy a birthday gift?

i consider their personality when buying a gift or if they have their own collection, i would buy a thing that they can add to their collections. i also think of giving something useful and important like a journal.

I agree. I prefer giving gifts that could be useful to the person I'm giving it to. So, I usually take the time to know what are their needs before their birthday. I don't like giving gifts for show, usually they just end up getting dusted up or given away for donations later.

i will try to give useful gifts to all occassions.i will spend some quality time in analysing the likes and dislikes of the person to whom i am gifting and will accordingly slect the gift.for children i used to buy some toys or otherwise i will give them giftcards so that they can buy the item which they like most.i also expect useful gifts from my friends.

When I have to buy a birthday gift it all depends who I am buying it for but I normally go and buy a gift card so that the person I am buying the gift for can buy whatever they really need, and they love it this way as they normally are trying to save towards something!!

What kind of gifts I buy depends on the person i'm buying for. If getting something for my parentsa or grandparents i will generally get something that they will use, and use up. They have so much stuff they cannot very easily store much more. Gifts to siblings and friends are a bit different. Many of them collect plates or silverware - and I'll buy them that. Or i might get someone a piece of jewlery i think they may like. And i love to go shopping for books and music for people. i get so happy if i can find just the right book or cd for someone.

Age appropriate gifts are important. I check out Target.com just to see what is in for a particular age group and narrow my ideas this way. And remember- you can't lose with a debit gift card for ages 9 and up!

i think fo the simplest thing that i can think of buying fo rhte person. i dotn give much importance to birthday gifts adn esp if it is some formal relations birthday. i would prefer to just go to a shop and pick up a thing the other can use. i dont give show pieces myself, beter gie something useful...
