I recently told on a co-worker and it resulting in them losing their job. That was not my intent but that was the outcome. I feel so horrible. I am afraid to tell them it is my fault because they are a friend. I only wanted to help them do their job better. What is the worst thing you have ever done and how have you handled the guilt?

i think you didnt mean harm and since things turned out that way, just leave them to learn their lesson. they're not innocent either.

I really am not clear how or what you told your co-workers that caused them to lose their job? I guess your intention was good. As you've said you only wanted to help them to do their job better. It loosks to me that the person you shared info did not follow what you told coz if you told that person what to do he would not have been removed from his job right?

I just wanted to tell you I feel bad for your predicament. I honestly don't know what to tell you. I believe there are times for everything. Times to talk and times to keep quiet. I think you did the right thing, but I wouldn't say anything, just pray for the person and who knows maybe they'll get a better job and learn from the experience. That's how I handle guilt by praying for the person I have hurt or going directly to the person and apologizing to them unless by doing so would hurt them. Take care and good luck.
