I had two Pomeranian females. One of them, Talita, lived to be 14 years old. The other one, Puff, lived to be 15 years old. I still miss them. 14 and 15 years is just not long enough!

I am really not sure exactly but that sounds about right. But just like people it probably varies. a dogs age is determined by multiplying 7 by the number of years the dog has been alive in people years.

Our oldest Dog (German Shepard -Beagle) had just turned 11.
I had to put him to sleep 2 weeks ago :(
The smaller breed dogs seem to live a lot longer then large breed dogs.

I believe it depends on the size of the dog. Really large dogs like damnes only live about 8 years, whole poodles can hit their 20's. It's just a general rule though, some dogs will live several years longer than their 'normal age'. Our dog was only supposed to hit about 12 and he is going to be 15 this summer.

Well that depends mainly on what breed of dog you are talking about. Irish wolfhound on the average is 6-7 years only. Chihuauas as well as Jack Russel Terriers live for about 13-15 years. Other breeds as labradors and golden shepherds live for about 10-12 years. But this is based on proper care. Basically it depends on how you take care your dog.
