psychic super-power

I have a friend who, without explanation, occasionally feels very strongly that certain things will happen. This is something that we've all felt to varying degrees. In my experience, these intuitions are reliably incorrect. In her case however, they are reliably correct.
Last year, she got on a plane for the first time, and had an intuition that the plane was going to crash. Naturally she was petrified.
Were her fears warranted? Were they irrational?
That voice which is either intuition or psychic super-power?

Confirmation bias means that people ARE biased. Thats exactly the point! Many people claim to be "very intuitive", but they only remember times when they were right, not when they were wrong. We all do this to some extend - people, like your friend, who do it to extremes, are conning themselves. It is not rational.
You say she has evidence. She might think she evidence. She might have evrything written down and tabulated... but if we cannot see that data, we cannot judge it. How do we know how strict she has been in recording hits vs misses. You (meaning oneself) are the easiest person to fool in such data collection.
We can have a (boring and pointless) theoretical discussion over what it might mean, but why bother? Anyone can claim infallible intuition, just as anyone can claim clairvoyance or other psychic powers. So what did you want to talk about?

You can earn billions in forex trading. Then you can use the funds for charity and to promote psychic thinking.

Some are born artist, some musical, logical, mathmaticains etc. This we know because we see it. Some are born with psychic powers. we can't see what they know so we have trouble believing it

It will take a psychic only 2 seconds to sabotage the entire defence system of the United States.

In my experience, sometimes fear can be mistaken for intuition. I believe that everyone has intuition and premonition to varying degrees. Unfortunately, not all of us pay attention. You have to look at the situation, and assess the "emotions" involved in the premonition-the possible underlying causes or circumstances involved. If there are none-I would say it's a premonition. In your friend's case, I think it was fear.

human beings are or rather our early ancestors were naturally endowed with such intuitive abilities, but over time we have lost it partly thanks to development of all kinds of gadgets and equipment. one finds that such capabilities still exist in the animal kingdom, the way birds and animals behave minutes before earthquakes occur.in your friend's case you have not mentioned what happened after she got that feeling..hoope she was not proved correct..sometimes it could be a one-off thing-this happens to many of us..we are thinking about a school-friend and suddenly he calls you after many years or you run into him at a social function..not that everytime we think about someone that this should happen. your friend should be told to take things in her stride..do listen to the inner voice occasionally, without getting unduly paranoid about it in a way that it starts affecting day-to-day life!

"Psychic" is not a power but an ability. I got psychic abilities too. All of us have. We even need Psychic ability to breathe. I had the ability of precognition. I usually encounter Deja Vous and Guess a lot for my friends. I dunno wer I got it. But it occurs when u encounter an accident. Or if you listen to psychedelic or trance music a lot. Accidents and music help. There's this pineal gland that is said to be encharged with this. So if u want to be a psychic, go skateboarding and bump ur head.. ncase u'll fix up wid ur pineal gland. Kidding. But if ur really confused, search for it in wikipedia.

I cannot judge until I see, but there are some people who are born with intuitive mind but your friend's case is rare.anyway it's good for her if she can predict the things to come,to avoid such bad things to happen ahead.it's not irrational nor a super power.

I have always thought that if you have a strong feeling about something you should honor it an change your plans accordingly.
My sons have always believed that also, even though I didn't actually teach them this. We are all quite sensitive and so I didn't need to formally instruct them in this practice and it has served them well.
I believe that everyone can use their 6th sense if they are not afraid to let it shine through. I think it is a survival mechanism that people have been taught to ignore from a young age, usually by religious taboos. I don't believe such things are irrational.
You might find your skill improving if you use it more often and then observe what happens when you alter your path in response to the information coming from those feelings!

I am not so sure about the psychic super powers part as that leaves a lot up for debate. Out of the so call psychics there are some that do have an uncanny skill at seem to knowing or guessing the future things. At least it seems this way. I don't doubt the human mind has the ablility its just hard to grasp the concept of how it could work. Visions and dreams are goo examples we almost all have experienced and they seem to fit future events, or do they and we make them fit? The brain is such a complex thing its hard for anyone to be really sure.

i actually just read sylvia brown's book. she is a world famous psycic. it was very interesting reading her point of views. i really think she is right in a way. I think there are "people" from the otherside directly involved in our "lives".. you should read it. its a great book.

I don't usually rely on psychic powers unless on some instant gut feeling. I mean without thinking about something and then suddenly there is a gut feeling. It's the one that is really reliable. Like when out of nothing i thought of my sister and suddenly i have a slight headache and when my mother called my sister is rushed to the hospital because of extreme headache. Or when i dreamed that i am angry at my husband after a few days i got mad at him.

Ye i agree that i also have such feelings at times.I cannot say that her fears are warranted. But i do believe in such intuitions which often occurs with everyone while they are in a peculiar or some new atmosphere.

I usually have that sensations that i can predict the future.Very rare, of course. But there is something that really gave me an interest.Once, i betted at soccer that a match from france would end 0:0.But i accidentally registered the bet twice. And the match actually ended 0:0,and i won.
Could it had been luck? or psychic super-power?

I think there is some explanation you have to do. You tell of a intuition she had regarding a plane crash. Did it actually crash?
If it did she should be employed by the Airline. But why should she get an intuition that a plane will crash. Isn't it better if it was something like, the hrydrolic system in the wing is defective or some other think where the remedy is a repair to the system, rather than the plane being grounded.

I guess that that we can Call Intuition oe 6sense..... And it realy works, and everybody have it... the diference is that some ppl listen and others don't.. i mean some pay atention to that intuition and other don't care... about it. I listen my intuition always, and 99% it was right! ;)

Whichever the case, whatever term you give it, I think if it works, trust it! But did that plane really crash? Or was it just a phobia she did not know about?
