I'm not sure if this brand is over there but here in Australia there is a brand called BRAUER!
They make everything from colic relief for infants, to a cough medicine for the nursing mother.
Everything they make is suitable for both Mother & Baby - maybe you could see if it's availbale there. I was in the same situation, i had an awful cough not long after my daughter was born & it was the only thing recommended to me to be safe!

My babys doctor told me tylenol cold was acceptable as long as I didnt take mass quantities of it. That and sudafed. Basically the same things I could take while I was pregnant. BUt I always ask the pharmacist too. I hope you feel better just soon. I have had a terrible cold for a week now, and I know just how rough it can be with a little one to take care of.

I would call your doctor and find out. THere's no reason for you to feel miserable if you don't have to. I know I have taken things while nursing, (I always asked the doc first of course), it's better to take something than try to push through it. Good luck! Hopeyou feel better soon.

You could try drinking orange juice and eating lots of hot soup... and your best bet is to talk to the pharamistist.
