Leaving children in the car

I watched an episode of CSI the other night and a baby was dead after being left in the car. It reminded me of how many stories were on the news about children and pets dying from dehydration from the heat. Now that summer is nearing again do you think that all parents and owners have learnt from these parents foolish mistakes or do you think that we will have another few headlines about children and dogs dying from the heat after being locked in the car?

I think there are a lot of people that will continue to do it. They just don't care enough. They think that if they are in and out of somewhere quick that their children and pets will be fine. They don't realize how short of a time it takes for a baby or child to die in the car when it basically becomes an oven from the hot sun. I would never leave my baby unattended in my car. I take him with me even if I am just running into the gas station to pay for my gas. I would leave my dogs out in the car in that situation, though. We have left our dogs out in the car for about twenty minutes unsupervised, but that's it. And when we've had to do that, we've always left the car running with the air conditioning or heating on, depending on what time of year it is. We had to leave our pets in the car because we were driving 1000 miles and took the girls with us. We had to leave them in car for things like rest stops and stuff, and a few places we ate, we went in and ordered. I would never leave my pets in the car to go shopping for a long time or anything, though. It's just ridiculous. I love them too much for that.

Yeah i managed to catch that also. I do think it's irresposible to leave pets in a car let alone leave children! I dont think people will ever learn...but you would think they wouldn not do it to their kids!
