Are internet hosting websites really safe

Recently there has been issues of predators, virus-spyware-identity theft and other malicious attempts wreaking havoc on popular host networks like MySpace. I don't have an account yet, but I am considering membership. Should I be concerned, or am I overly paranoid?

Cleary you don't really know much about website hosting :-) You can't compare a hosting company to a site like Myspace. Sites like mySpace is safe enough if the users know what they are doing. The problem is that most mebers of myspace and sites like it are 12 years old. People of that age don't really know what they are doing on the computer, resulting in virus or worse.
