Why is it important that Lily's wand was good for charms?
I haven't seen this discussed anywhere so I thought I'd throw it out here and see what ideas others have.
We learn in the first book that Lily's wand was good for charms.
and JKR has said that
It's very important in the plot that Harry has his mother's eyes, and that her wand was very good for charms.
We have seen that having Lily's eyes helped Harry with Slughorn in Book 6. Perhaps it will also play a role in book 7.
But what I'd like ideas on is the last part -- charms. We haven't seen anything in the first 6 books about Lily and Charms so it will have to be revealed in Book 7. From reading the first 6 books I have an idea but I am curious to see what others think.
So why is it important that Lily's wand was very good for charms?

This is a stretch, but maybe it just meant she was charming?! lol, no seriously, just like James' wand was good for tranfiguration, i'm sure it tells us something about their character. Perhaps the reason we know that her wand was good for that branch of magic could be because we come to find out that it was a charm from lily's wand that actually caused the spell to rebound off harry-i.e. it wasn't love, but a charm lily had put on harry or something. Also, perhaps having parents that wands are best for the two major forms of magic means that harry's is just an exceptional wand, able to perform all magic with enormaous skill..that is if the functions and skills of the wands and their bearers are passed through the generations.
