They are called Ultra-Rares, for a reason, the reason is that they are ultra-rare. If everybody could find one on their first adventure (or every hundred), then they would be called 'not ultra rares'. I have never found any, and I don't think I should spend time trying (if the place I am farming has an ultra-rare adventure, that's fine, but if not, so be it).
Jick has obviously spent quite a long time making sure there are not many of these are in circulation, therefore keeping the price up, and people keen and eager to find one.
Of course, I have found quite a few semi-rares (though we all do at some point), but as this is set on a counter (that can be revealed by something that can be found in the market, we all have to find them, but no ultra-rares.

I've never gotten an ultra rare. My boyfriend has been trying for the Talisman of Baio for a while now, but no luck.

There's almost no point in actually purposely farming for the ultra rares, in fact Jick specifically designed them so that they're not really any easier to get if you just keep trying then if you randomly come across it, since they may only be available on certain minutes of certain days, and even then your chances are slim to nil. The only way you can really get ultra rares is if you buy them on the /trade channel or from the mall, which means a whole lot of meat.

I've never run across them, either. I think SirMattias has the right of it, saying that it's totally random. Also, ascending seems to help you get things that you wouldn't normally get as a n00b. So, keep up with that, instead of spending your adventures on something that it's more than likely you're not going to get.
