In my opinion uptil your examinations don't log on to mylot else you will not be able to stop yourself as you are addicted. Control yourself from connecting internet. When I was new to mylot I also worked on mylot for 6 to 8 hours a day but now I controlled myself and just log here for 2 hours at a maximum. If you would start studying with concentration your mind will not divert.

Well you need to concentrate on your school work...I guess if you have to make yourself get off of here for awhile to do just that.It can become very addicting.I know...I'm hooked too. :)

Welcome to the club. I used to be here a lot more than I am now when I first started. Now, I try to set aside specific time to be here. I'm usually here in the morning after I check all my e-mails, etc. Then, I'm here in the evening after I do all my chores, etc. I would suggest setting up a schedule and sticking to it. If staying on too long is the problem, make coming to Mylot the last thing you do after you've done all you're supposed to do.

School comes first my friend. Decide what;s more important your education or your myLot meager earnings. I would miss you greatly but would look forward to your return. I too am addicted as I tend to spend 8 hours sometimes more here. Take them tests get offline then return when the schooling has slowed down' Love you my friend.
Happy postings from Grandpa Bob

i always try to do that... set a time for myself to stop being on mylot and study then when i do reach that time i decide to push it further.. i cant stick to my boundaries that i set for myself which is why i've been thinking of banning myself from here.

I think it could be harder on you if you try to ban yourself from My Lot right away like that. Try to control your addiction. Give you some time with My Lot whenever you had finish a homework, or after you study 2 hours for an exam. MyLot time should be see as a reward for what you have did for your study during the day. Good luck!

You must prioritise! Set yourself a goal when you have done all the work you can for that day then you can come online and chat to your friends. I struggle some days to get everyting done because as soon as I get nline there's a big list of emails and I just have to answer.
Your exams are really important in the long term, m your future is a really big deal, don't let school slide.
Mylot will still be here after your exams!

Yes you should ban yourself if you are not disciplined enough to come in here for 1 hour then leave. I have had to put a time limit on myself in here too, because I was not getting anything else done. Concentrate on those exams, they are your future!

It is not something ban from myLot can solved the problem. Good solution always consider win-win situation. Well as a student you should have your priority in do things like study, homework, assignment, class, meeting and whatsoever. by doing that it doesn't mean we can't do anything at all about what we love to. My point is your time management and self rules. After considering your time with academics, then it's good to relief by share thought here in myLot. Well i'm not kinda councellor person who good in motivate others. I just what is made up in my mind, that's all. So it's up to you marian, self rules is important. As you can manage your time, there is nothing to worry even tomorrow is your exam. I tell you what, when my final year before graduating, my last paper exam, i sleep almost 20 hours the day before exam, because i'm doing something that strain me too much :) hey it's ok

I think banning oneself is the way to handle the situation. Its more like discipline. You should be aware that your priorities are your studies. And you should be able to control yourself and have the right discipline to know that it is more important than mylot. When you have the discipline, you can have both mylot and your studying wthout worrying if you got enough time or if you budgetted it well:)

I also got addicted to MyLot when I first joined here. It really affected my performance in the office. I'm well disciplined now when it comes to MyLot. I convinced myself that the pay in MyLot is nothing, compared to the pay I receive when working. I suggest you think of your priorities first then if you have free time you can go to MyLot. School is very important, it is your stepping stone in the real world. I'm sure that you'll be okay without MyLot. You just need to set your priorities.

The way to deal with addictions is to.. deal with it.
Glad that you know you are addicted! :P
So if you really want to get rid of this addiction, gradually wean yourself off it. For instance, you are mylotting 5 hours a day. The next day, cut it down to 4 hours. Maintain for a day or 2, then cut it down to 3 hours. Well, I think you get the point.

I think school comes first. Mylot will be here when you get done with your studies. What will pay your bills? Just something to think about, and education should be more important then Mylot.
OK, so I am being a Mom lol My kids thought their friends were more important. But, found out sure friends are great to have. They won't be there to get you a better job, education will. You can still visit Mylot just study first.

Yes it might be best to take it easy on mylot for a while. I see alot of people on here talking about not doing other stuff to be on here. People need to get their priorities straight I guess. The internet is great but some things should come first. Good luck on your tests, if you stay here all the time you're gonna need it.

I think all you need to do is to manage your time wisely not really ban yourself from mylot. Just think of it this way, you need to study because you have to pass the exams or else, your parents will freak out. concentrate on the subject you are not good at, that will be a good start.
