What kinds of things do you do with your baby / toddler outside?

I have a 14 month old boy. He LOVES to go outside! He has just recently started asking (pointing and waving bye bye to the door) to go outside.
He has a baby/toddler swing that he has pretty much gotten tired of, a ball that I try to get him to roll or kick and a little car he can ride by pushing with his feet. He, at times, likes to play with these things, but he is getting bored with them.
I live in a town home, so my yard isn't very big.... what are some activities you do with your kids? I would like to keep him interested in playing outside, but we just don't seem to find things to do...except find rocks, sticks and dirt to eat...LOL
I am open to any suggestions...thanks in advance

I have a 12 month old boy and he already loves to play outside. We take a walk to the park and he loves looking at everything outside. The park has swings that are meant for toddlers and he enjoys those. We also go down the slide together. He is a pretty good walker already and enjoys walking in the grass and feeling the texture of the grass. I also just bought his a $5 kiddie pool that he wades in on the porch (We live in Southern CA so it is already warm). It is really good to get him outside so he gets fresh air and I hope the more we go, the more he will enjoy the outdoors.

Your child is at the age of curiosity and exploration, trying to learn all about the environment around him. He will never have enough of what he sees and so, he wants to keep on exploring, but with you alongside him for he will be so afraid to lose you, even losing just the sight of you will trigger so much fear in him.
Try to bring him to a nearby park when you have time. He will be very happy to be running around and picking up things. Be around always because it is his tendency to put into his mouth anything that looks good enough.
