Does anyone take Strattera for ADHD? I started taking it about a month ago and I hate it! First of all it makes me nauseus, to the point where now when I wake up, all I have to do is LOOK at the bottle of pills and I start getting a stomach ache! It makes me constipated too! ::blushing with embarassment:: Plus I really fdon't think it helps me at all with any of my attention problems... if anything, I've felt depressed and LESS motivated lately! My therapist says the stomachaches and other side effects should go away and I should start taking two pills a day instead of one. Are there any other medicines out there that work better?

I tried strattera once. It made me nauseus too but the big problem was it made me very angry. I quit taking it soon after I started. I have been on Wellbutrin and it did the same thing unless I also take it with an antidepressant. I haven't tried anything else for ADD.

it's nice that you had yourself checked for ADHD. I'm thinking of doing just like that, so I'd put an end to endless speculations and self-doubt. Some say i'm down with learning disability while others say it's ADHD. I'm still searching the net for more information on both. If the doctor confirms this, maybe I should take some medication like yours. If it won't work, at least I'll still have the option to look to others for treatment or just let myself do whatever it takes to lead a normal life. In all honesty, I've thought about not marrying and having family at all. I don't want my child getting my learning disability. It's mostly genetic according to some of my researches.

There are alot of different meds out there, but they aren't right for everyone. I have 2 children with ADHD. One is on Strattera and does great with no side effects. The other, they tried Strattera and it made him so sick he couldn't even leave the house. Now he is on Concerta. So call your doc and tell him the meds are making you sick and you don't feel any improvement. They will try something else, till they find what is right for you. It is a guessing game for the docs to find the right med at the right dosage. And they only know when they are getting the right meds at the right dosage because you talk to them
