I think that kisses on the hand is a much better gesture than receiving a kiss on the cheek. Unless it was from a woman, that would be odd.

I guess that depends on what type of person you are, I think kissing on the cheeks is more of the modern type while kissing on the hand is more of the classic...

I think a kiss on the hand is a very beautiful, romantic and classic gesture that a guy can give me, specially if he's like courting me or better yet proposing to me.
For me it is the most noble of all signs of affection since it also embodies a mans' respect for his lady, and we don't really get this a lot nowadays so, i think it'll be refreshing to experience it every once in a while =)

well, it really depends on the person. sometimes, they can't help but give malice if a person kisses you on the cheeks. i do it all the time, kiss on the cheeks that is, as a sign of not only for respect but for affection to friends and families.

I agree with you that if you are giving a person respect then you should go for kissing the hand. And if someone is really formal with you then a kiss on the cheek would not be a wrong thing to do.

I think kissing on the hand is a better gesture when showing respect to our elderly. On the other hand kissing on the cheek is advisable when showing gesture to our love ones especially to our partner in life.
