Best Response Question....

Do you rate a Best Response even if there is only one or two responses? I wonder this because if I don't, the discussion stays unresolved. Also, because sometimes even one response is so good that I hate not to reward the responder. Any help will be appreciated...

I am very picky about my best responses. I have several discussions where it's been a matter of weeks and I haven't picked a best because one doesn't seem to be "best." I use ratings to reward good responses, and I try to not pick a best without three or four responses at least. I'm afraid I will mark best and the next day the heavens open up and the muse whispers the most original, beautiful, soul stirring respose of all time, and I can't do a thing about it because I marked "Yes, me too." as best!

No, I do not. I will mark the best response only when I have more than 5 response in that discussion. But if I cannot find any response that is worth for the best response, I will wait until the one who deserve this, so that I can mark the best response.
How about others?

I try to pick on for every discussion. On occasion I do find it hard to pick on though. Like if I ask somthing and only a handful of people have responded and non of them really get the question. I don't pick one then.
