Ok I just had to share some info that I just read about that is really scary. Did you know that your baby's shampoo can contain something that is called Quaternium-15? That is actually formaldehyde in disguise! Formaldehyde is very toxic and can weaken the immune system. Check your baby's product to make sure. I use Johnson's baby wash and found it in there. I know alot of the products that adults use can be toxic but I just cannot believe what is put in products that we use on our babies!

Thank you for the informative post. My guess is that few parents know about this. I am wondering if there have been any studies on this topic i.e. correlations between baby shampoo use to possible effects. One thing to watch out for when using such products is an immediate reaction or irritaion (although even without an obvious skin irritation, formaldehyde can impact the child). The best thumb rule is to minimize the use of shampoo and other cosmetic products - parents often don't realize that babies don't really need excessive cleaning!
